Meet The Soapmaker!

I’m a mother of five—four sons and one daughter—and a proud grandmother of two. The boys have grown and flown the coop; however, my daughter is Special Needs with a Ring Chromosome, and I will take care of her in my home until I can no longer. Because of her needs, it has been quite the predicament for me as I am unable to work outside the home. I had an amazing position with an incredible nonprofit organization that allowed me to work from home; however, as the organization grew, the workload became harder to balance with caregiving for my daughter.  I found myself struggling with the decision I knew I needed to make: to let the position I loved go to care for my daughter, whom I love even more. Choosing to leave a job I loved was difficult, but it was the right choice for my family and my sanity.

Looking for a sense of purpose and a creative outlet, I discovered soapmaking. Watching pours and cuts felt calming, and learning to formulate soap recipes, the multitude of design elements/ techniques, and essential oil blends with top, middle, and base notes became deeply satisfying. What began as a few handmade gifts for family and friends quickly grew into a passion project that fits my life and honors my priority of caring for my daughter.

That journey led to Niagara West Soap Studio—my small, lovingly crafted soap business. I still volunteer regularly with the nonprofit that means so much to me, and soapmaking has given me a joyful, flexible way to keep creating while caring for my daughter.

Niagara West Soap Studio is nestled in the heart of the Magic Valley. Our name is inspired by the breathtaking beauty of Shoshone Falls. Our small-batch artisanal soaps are crafted with care, using the traditional cold-process method. Formulated with nourishing, skin‑loving oils and butters — coconut, olive, castor, cocoa butter, shea, avocado, almond, and more, and scented solely with pure essential oils - to bring you products that are as gentle on the earth as they are on your skin. Bars cure slowly for 4–6 weeks, ensuring a stable, long‑lasting bar; as a result, each piece is one‑of‑a‑kind and may vary slightly in size, shape, and weight. Our soaps deliver a creamy lather and lasting moisture for a truly luxurious cleanse.

At Niagara West Soap Studio, we believe that soap is more than just a daily necessity; it’s an experience. Each bar is thoughtfully crafted to provide not only a cleansing routine but also a moment of serenity, connecting you with the serene essence of the waterfalls and landscapes that inspire us.

Join us on this journey to elevate your everyday rituals with our handcrafted soaps. Your skin will thank you.
